Submission Guidelines
We love getting submissions. We need them. Approximately 20% of our magazine is written by freelancers. However, either most submitters are around nine with average writing skills or older and dumb. Seriously, I think Deep Blue could write better copy than most of the shit we receive, and I’m a Mac man.
Please read our magazine before you start doodling in your journal about that “wild debaucherous” trip to New Orleans. We’re open to receiving all types of articles, but you gotta get our fuckin mystique down first. Okay, now you might come up with some idea that you think would work for Fran. Great! Don’t check with us first, just write it; we’ll let you know if we like it.
It’s written! Yay! For Christ’s sake, reread it. Give it to some friends; do they like it? It’d be great if you have some photos to go along with it. Now you may send it in. You can email it to the address above, as a MS Word document, or send it by mail. If you mail it, please enclose an edition on a CD (Macintosh format). Put a little bio about yourself in there, too; you’re probably really nice.
Fran Magazine is not responsible for any unsolicited materials. If you want them returned, enclose a SASE with sufficient postage. And, sorry, but we’re pretty small and, though we will pay for material we use, it won’t be a lot. Fortunately, we’re bounding with love and can provide an endless supply of smirks and hugs.
