Party at Jim and Samantha’s
Eagle Rock, CA
October 8, 2004

Jim and Samantha are two of my favorite new friends. They’re super fucking witty and a calming thrill to be around. They just moved into a new apartment and had a housewarming party. I don’t know but one of their other friends. It was one of those parties were you go with a couple of friends, talk to the people you came to see, and all the people you don’t know let loose a bit more. I don’t like it when that happens. I wanted to get howly and accidentally piss all over my socks in the bathroom, but it just wasn’t in the cards.

Another of my newer and favoriter friends came later. We argued and played fake-out angry with each other. Giving hell and nitpicking people you care about is a nice way to show your respect. She thinks we’ll argue for real one day, and I suspect that she’s right. I’m not quite sure what’ll happen then. But in the meantime we scratched up a bunch of records because the record player had one of those safety arms that has to be lifted up before a record can be placed. Even the owner couldn’t work it properly. I’d never seen any of my newer friends that drunk before.
